Looking for a new vape starter kit can sometimes be pretty confusing with all the options that are now available.
Trying to get your head around the different vape mods, clearomisers (tanks), batteries and chargers can be complicated. That’s why we’ve put together our list of the top 10 best vape starter kits in 2019.
If you’re a completely new beginner to vaping, you could consider buying a vape pen or a vape starter kit that is all in one. A box mod is ideal for someone who has a little more experience and is looking for a stronger draw. Smokers who first move over to vaping sometimes look for the cheapest option and search for “cheap vape starter kit”, which is not always the best way to go. Instead, you should be looking for the best vape starter kit.
Over the last several years, there has been a revolution in vaping devices that are available. Initially, there were only a few options available such as a cigalike (an e-cigarette that looks like a cigarette). Now, we find that if we walk into a vape shop near me or a vape website, there are a whole range of products to choose from.
This presents the challenge of navigating through the products available to find one that is suitable for you.
What should I look for in a Vaping Starter Kit?
People who are new to vaping will generally look at the cost of the device, how easy it is to use and how it looks. Don’t worry about all the mods available and customisable options for now as you ideally want something that will ease you into using a vape without having to worry too much about what is needed to make it run.
We would not recommend running out there and buying the cheapest vape kit/device possible as you do get what you pay for. Stick to something that has good reviews and is easy to use for now as you can always upgrade at a later date or buy something new.
Using a vape is a hell of a lot cheaper than smoking cigarettes so you will save money in the long run (so don’t be put off a vape starter kit that is over £60).
Types of Vape Kits
The type of vape starter kits you use will depend on your personal preference and smoking habits as there are many types of e-cigarette kits available. Some of the popular types of kits are
- Starter Kits – these kits will have a larger battery life and are ideal for the higher nicotine strength e-liquids.
- Pod Mods – These are designed for portability as they are generally compact. They do not create large clouds and could be more suitable for the office/work environment.
- Box Mod Starter Kits – Larger kits with customisable options. The user can vary the wattage and temperature on these devices.
What is the best vaping device for beginner vapers?
People new to vapes should start with something simple, avoid the more complex devices with customisable options and look for a basic vape starter kit. You get what you pay for but vaping doesn’t have be expensive, you can get some quality kits at the low to mid-range price that are ideal if you are just starting off.
Best Vape Starter Kits

The T20 comes with a 1500mAh battery, 2ml tank capacity and 1.5 ohm coils for a mouth to lung vape. It is ideal for beginners as many vape mods and more advanced devices can seem too complicated for someone who is new to vaping.
The T20 comes with a top filling design of the tank so it is really easy to use. We found that the battery lasts for a long time too and were able to last the whole day on one single charge. Using this vape pen is very easy as it only has one button to operate it.
The Innokin Endura T20 vape starter kit includes the device, atomiser, the tank, 2 replacement drip tips, a tip for the drip tip, spare O rings and a USB charging Cable.
JustGof C601 Pod Vape Kit
This compact kit is very easy to use and takes salt nicotine so you can get a higher concentration of nicotine, ideal to help you come of traditional cigarettes and move to vapes.

The aegis mini kit is shock proof, water proof and dust proof so it is one of the more rugged vape starter kits on the market and is ideal if your job is a little more hands on.
Juul Starter Kit
Juul has become a well known vape brand in the UK as they have a very good product selection and the starter kits are always affordable.
The Juul kit is non refillable, which means that you will have to purchase the refills from Juul and you are restricted to their flavours and options, which can be a downside. The upside is that they are very easy to use so are ideal for the complete beginner.
Juul’s starter kit comes with the Juul e-cigarette, USB charging dock and four pods of eliquid. The pods contain 0.7ml of juice with a nicotine strength of 5%.
The devices are compact, take around an hour to charge and will last up to 200 puffs.
Vaporesso Veco Solo Starter Kit
The vaporesso starter kit comes with an internal battery and tank, which means that they cannot be modified but this also makes it easier to get started for a beginner.
Unlike the starter kits mentioned above, you do get multiple coil options with this device, giving you some customisation.
The box includes a Vaporesso Veco Solo, 1 ceramic coil, 1 traditional EUC coil, USB charger and User manual.
We found that that flavour produced with the Vaporesso were very good and the ceramic coil gave a slightly better taste that the traditional coil (kit includes both coils).
VooPoo Drag 2 Kit
Now this kit is one of the more popular kits but we would not recommend it to a beginner. This would be recommended to someone who has experience with vaping due to the mods available to customise the device.
This kit comes with one of the best next chip sets available on any box mod and will power you through anything. This is more kit comes with it’s own tank (VooPoo Uforce) and is designed to create massive clouds and excellent flavours.
We recommend reading up about Ohm’s Law and Joules to help educate you when purchasing mods for the more advanced kits out there.
Are Cheap Vape Starter Kits worth Considering?
Yes. Just because something is twice the price does not necessarily mean that it would be the best for you.
You might be thinking: can I get a good vape kit without spending too much?
As we mentioned earlier, you do get what you pay for but the cheap vape kits can be ideal for someone who is starting off and does not want to get lost in all the mods/tanks/atomisers/etc that are on the market. Carrying out a little bit of research can arm you to find a good vape starter kit to help get you transitioned over.
Also, a smoker can save around £3000 a year by switching from traditional cigarettes to vapes so the initial cost of a Vape starter kit can easily be justified.
A lot of people make the switch to vapes and then give up and switch back to traditional cigarettes but this nearly always because they haven’t picked the vape device that is most suitable for them.
Take your time when making your decision and think about what you want to get out of it as there are a wide range of options with different features and varying prices.
There are some excellent starter kits to pick from so choose carefully and hopefully you find the device that is right for you.
